Kiss a Pig
The Kiss-A-Pig contest is a 10 year tradition concluding at the end of the week long Loudoun County Fair. The Loudoun County Fair will be celebrating its 73rd year and, thanks to the support and donations of our community, it continues to be one of the longest running traditions in the county. The Kiss-A-Pig contest is a very popular tradition of the fair, and is one that gives our generous contestants the opportunity to raise money that will go towards the upkeep of our grounds, maintenance of the multiple barns & buildings, youth programs and scholarship awards.
After the months of creative fundraising by each contestant, a crowd gathers on the last night of the fair to see which lucky winner will be locking lips with a real pig. The contestant that raises the most money is the lucky winner, and will be announced in front of the grandstand crowd on Saturday night at the start of the rodeo.
This is a fun tradition and, most importantly, a tradition that allows the Loudoun County Fair to continue to provide great family entertainment while focusing on the positive impact of the children on the community. Please take a moment to look through the 2008 Kiss-A-Pig contestants, stop by their businesses, say hello and show your support by giving big.
Although this is an event that promotes a great cause, we hope all involved will have fun and make this an exciting time with their community. Who is your favorite? Give, and watch them pucker up.
Congratulations to our 2007 Kiss-A-Pig winner, Dr. Greg Mayo of Mayo Family Dentistry, Leesburg, Virginia.

Joseph Myer
Assistant Vice President and Financial Advisor, Merrill Lynch
4-H, FFA and my local county fair all had a significant impact on my experience growing up in rural Virginia. Having raised beef, lambs and pigs for the fair myself, I have a firsthand appreciation for the hard work and preparation that goes into these projects.
4-H, FFA and other youth programs lay the foundations for meaningful and productive adult lives by teaching our youth the value of hard work, individual responsibility and organizational skills that last a lifetime. The county fair serves an important role in the fabric of a rural community. Every year, people look forward to the county fair as an opportunity to enjoy the company of their friends and neighbors. All of the talents and hard work of the fair's participants and organizers are on display for the county's enjoyment. By supporting the Loudoun County Fair and its youth programs, we can ensure that this community tradition and tribute to rural living continues to play an important role.
As crazy as this sounds, I am delighted to have the opportunity to "Kiss-A-Pig" and support the Loudoun County Fair and its youth programs. Thank you for your support.

I am a native of Loudoun County and have lived in the Lovettsville area my entire life. Some folks in the area also know me by my first name, Earl. I am a graduate of Loudoun Valley High School. I was a 4-H member. A U.S. Army veteran. I was in the Automotive Sales field for 16 years and I have been an Advertising Sales Consultant for the Loudoun Times Mirror or Times Community Newspapers for approximately 8 years.
Why should you support my Kiss-A-Pig effort? I believe in the Loudoun County Fair and the wonderful opportunity it provides for Loudoun County 4-H members to learn about fairness, dedication and teamwork in their life lessons. I believe they also feel pride from the community recognition they receive. By supporting my campaign, you will be creating a better place, namely the Loudoun County Fairgrounds, for our evolving youth to have a safe and adequate facility to learn good moral values!
Please give to the Loudoun County Fair as they are trying to make a better place for community activities.
